Help Us Reach Our Goal Of Raising Funds To Scholarship 250 At-Risk Children For The Upcoming School Year!

When you were in grade or high school, did you have someone to greet you when you came home from school? Someone to help you with homework? Someone to help you in the right direction? Well, at BGCBulloch, we help the children and teens who don’t know that experience. Our members benefit from homework help and educational programs, mentoring/character development as well as recreation that encourages good sportsmanship.

A new school year is upon us, and YOU can be part of giving these kids that chance by donating to our Club. Terrific Kid Tuesday “Most Improved”

Meet RJ! He is only 9 years old and this is his FIRST summer at BGC. He is originally from Glennville, Ga. RJ has been voted most improved because he has shown great character in the class room, and respect to the teachers and surrounding classmates. “It can be hard coming to a new place, so at first I was shy, but then the Club quickly became like home,” RJ said. RJ said if he could bring something new to BGC, it would be a Science lab. “Science is my favorite subject,” exclaimed RJ.

CONGRATS on being most improved!

Terrific Kid Tuesday!

This little girl is only 4 years old and today is awarded the Terrific Kid Tuesday Award! She always comes into  BGC with a big smile on her face ready to conquer the day. She may be little, but she packs some heat, Bella has a Tiny Tiger 2nd Degree Black Belt! Bella is always fashioned in a cute pink outfit, “bubble gum pink is my favorite color!” Bella exclaimed. What a perfect color to match her bubbly personality. Bella’s favorite activity at the Boys & Girls Club is dancing in the game room. Congrats Bella on being Terrific Kid Tuesday!

“The Newcomers” MVP’s of the Week!

Meet  our Pre-K Class! They are the youngest bunch here at our Boys & Girls Club. This week they are also our MVP’s. Usually we just chose one MVP but this week, we couldn’t resist picking this whole class. These are not only the youngest kids here, it is also their FIRST time being at the Club. This summer Ms. Blunt, our Pre-K teacher, through using our Brain Gain program, she has been teaching the kids site words, how to add, and just yesterday the learned to count to 100 while doing 100 jumping jacks! IMPRESSIVE! Ms. Blunt loves these little kids as if they were her own. “I love getting to work with this group, each day they improve so much on their skills, from listening to being able to read full sentences!” said Miss. Blunt. We would like to recognize and congratulate our  Pre-K class on being MVP. These little kids really are the future of BGCBulloch. Congrats Pre-K Class, keep jumping to new heights!

Brain Gain: Reading Time!

Do you know about our Summer Program called Brain Gain??

We’re excited to launch the Summer Brain Gain program, which is supported by Disney this summer to help kids stay on track for the coming school year! This program offers fun, themed activities for elementary school, middle school and high school students. We’re also offering Summer Brain Gain: Read!, a summer reading program, which is supported by Staples and Boys & Girls Club of America.

The Real “MVP” Of The Week!

Meet Kenyan, our MVP of the week! During the school year we give out awards to the “Terrific Kid” of the week, in the summer we call them our MVP’s. We chose our MVP’s based off their work, their attitude, and overall character throughout the week. Kenyan showed great progress in his school work, has been respectful to his surrounding classmates, and showed great enthusiasm for learning this summer! Kenyan also dreams to be a Doctor one day! We support him fully in his goals and hope to call him “Dr. Kenyan” in the future. Congrats Kenyan on being MVP of the week!

School’s Out for Summer!

What could be better than some juicy watermelon on a sunny Statesboro day!?

School is out for the summer! Which means our Summer Program has officially begun! Monday at 7:30a.m. we opened our doors, ready for the kids. This summer will be packed with many different activities ranging from Recreational Fitness to Arts & Crafts to the “surprise” field trips that will take place each Friday. It is nice to have the kids back, their laughter and joy that this program brings them puts smiles on our faces.
We are grateful to those that have supported our Club, were it not for you these kids would be doing nothing productive with their summer. While we have a fun environment set up for the kids, we never forget our number one priority which is their education. During our Summer Program, education is something we keep focus on throughout the entire day. Here at our Club we have 8 learning facilities, two which include computer labs. We also have such a lovely staff, I do not know what we would do without them. Each morning they come in with bright smiling faces, and that is how they continue through their 10 hour work day! Everyone is so encouraging to one another, I am so grateful for the oppurtunity to work at this facility.
If you want to keep up with what will be going on this summer please continue to follow our blog! Also, if you would like to support our Club, please click the link below. Each donation we receive helps a child get out of the house and be in an environment where they are safe, can have fun, and learn.
